Food Ideas for baby shower….

Standard

This is strictly the food ideas I want to have at baby Maddie’s {Hannah.. her mom’s actually} shower. So..I’m putting them here so I won’t “lose” them! LOL!!

Use a cookie cutter to make cucumber flowers. And then you don't have to peel them.   No-nonsense but nice food spread for baby shower or party. Veggie sticks in cup with dressing in the bottom. Fruit kabob of strawberries, grapes, & pineapple. Pretzel rods. Cheese and crackers. Easy to make and serve Bundt cake. Bottles of water with especially printed labels.  the strawberry + pineapple skewers only!

Just buy small plastic glasses and fill them up. - cute fruit bowl alternative   Cucumber cups - stuff with tuna or chicken salad - Brilliant!Cuke cups stuff w/ tuna or chicken salad!

BLT cups!

A twist on the veggie tray. Great use of dollar store vases.   A fun way to serve watermelon!

Crunchy green grapes, dip them in caramels melted with a little cream, then dip them in finely chopped, salted peanuts. So addicting. Like little tiny caramel apples....but better.. https://www.facebook.com/Whenthedinnerbellrings       string cheese chopped into bite size pieces, dipped in milk and bread crumbs, baked at 425 for 8-10 minutes- serve with marinara sauce! Delish!String cheese cut into bite sized pieces, dipped in milk and bread crumbs, bake @ 425 for 8-10 mins. serve w/ marinara sauce!

Cucumber Sandwiches! Such a great alternative to bread. Yummy with chicken salad, crab, tuna, cream cheese and I could go on:)Cuke sandwich w/ chicken, tuna, OR crab salad. Or cream cheese… flavored?

Today’s post is going to be mostly pictures. Pictures of projects I’ve created. From cards to altered coffee tins to ATCs.

These are coffee tins that I altered for children in our family….

This was made for a “birdhouse challenge” for a monthly workshop that I attend. The “birdhouse” base was a CTMH {Close To My Heart} milk carton. I won second place!

Here are some birthday cards I have designed and made.

This one I used a Cuttlebug ebossing folder, Tim Holtz Coredinations paper, markers to color the candle stamped image, and Stickles to make the candle flame “glow.”

I literally “threw” this one together on the morning of my husband’s birthday. The letter stickers are cork.

These 2 different birthday cards were done for a swap. The top one is made with acetate and tissue paper with watered down white school glue as the decoupage adhesive. The image is a large stamp of balloons that was stamped onto the acetate with Staz-On ink.
The pink one on the bottom was mostly stamped images and patterned papers.

FiNaLLy!! and Rain IS wet!!

Standard

I have FINALLY gotten the 5 x 7″ birthday cards done!! It’s a miracle! No, not really. But it is AMAZING!!! They were only due back in May. Techniques I used on these cards are … heat embossing, fussy cutting {around the velum circles} and machine stitching. LOVE how these turned out!!

Also some of the other adventures of today…
rain…Rain…RAIN AND MORE RAIN!!  We had already saturated ground and more and more rain added more water to it. Now I’m NOT complaining about all this rain. As for now my plants and flowers are okay with it. But eventually it will be too much for even them.

The picture on the left is the road that leads to our driveway and the picture on the right IS our driveway. So much rain!

DSCN9065 DSCN9056 DSCN9064  And this picture, left, is the top of our driveway. The photo doesn’t do it justice but there is a ton of water in the driveway behind our car.

MY Shirt!!

Standard

Well here it is!! This is the finished product from our tie dying adventure yesterday! I LOVE how it turned out. I may have to go into business doing this!! Jessica sent me home w/ the leftover dye yesterday so I pulled 2 more white t-shirts out of my drawer this a.m. and tie dyed THEM!! I’ll wait about 8 hrs or so to untie them so it will be tomorrow before I can show them on this blog. That’s if y’all are interested on me goings on!!

So I have found another FUN “hobby” to jump in with both feet!!

This is the day the Lord has made!! Let us REJOICE and be glad in it!!  (Psalms 118:24)

DSCN9896

I started this post this earlier this morning…but never finished it. So even though this day is almost over it is still the day the Lord has made!!

DSCN9033  I got together this afternoon with these two wonderful ladies {Jessica LiBasci and Sue Miller} to tie dye shirts. We are going to the Scrapbook Expo in Atlanta in 12 DAYS!!! We are getting so excited!!

Here’s a few pictures to show what we did….

DSCN9027    These are our shirts after we “tied” them up.

DSCN9029   My shirt after putting the dye to it. DSCN9030   Sue’s shirt after “dying” it.

DSCN9031   And Jessica’s shirt.

I will “try” to get some pictures of the final products soon.
It was so much fun to tie dye….
Now it’s late and I’m starting to “fade…….”

Night all!!
